2023 AAU Gymnastics National Championship: Event summary, Schedule, Awards, and Broadcast info

The 2023 AAU National Gymnastics Championship will commence shortly. Orlando, Florida will once again play host to the Gymnastics National Championships. Athletes from all over the United States are making their way to compete in this event with the hopes of bringing home an AAU National Championship. Beginning on the 30th of June and concluding on the 3rd of July, the event will last for a total of four days.

AAU Gymnastics will be working with the Kids Helping Kids Charity programme once again. The AAU is pleased to lend its support to the Peyton Project, a charitable organisation whose mission is to assist non-verbal persons with autism.

2023 AAU Gymnastics National Championship event summary 

More than 3,070 gymnasts and more than 580 coaches from 35 different AAU districts will compete in the most important competition of the 2023 AAU Gymnastics season, and they will all have the same goal in mind: to take home the gold medal. Athletes will be divided into three distinct divisions: the Ladies Division, the Girls Division, and the Special Stars Division.

The Girls Division includes several various competition levels, including Level 1-8, Open Optional, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond divisions. These competition levels can be found under the Girls Division. Athletes aged 18 and older will compete in the Ladies Division, which will be segmented into Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Open Optional divisions respectively.

This year, the Special Stars Division is making tremendous strides towards reaching even greater heights.  This recently prepared programme for AAU Gymnastics is intended for gymnasts who have certain requirements that must be met. At the 2023 AAU Gymnastics National Championships, there will be more than 24 athletes with special needs competing. The number of athletes competing in the Special Stars Division has reached an all-time high, setting a new record.

2023 AAU Gymnastics National Championship awards 

The AAU National Championship will award each competitor a medal for their overall performance. Additionally, competitors in each age category will receive medals for each individual event. They will give the National All-American Award to the competitor who achieves the highest overall score in each level throughout each session, regardless of their age. 

Also, they will select the athletes for the National Team based on their placement in the top three of each event across all levels and during each session.
