The Canadian National Olympic Committee will send 473 athletes to Chile. The team includes Maggie Mac Neill, who won gold in swimming in Tokyo, Olympic gold-medal winning weightlifter Maude Charon, and beach volleyball players Melissa Humana-Parades and Brandie Wilkerson, currently ranked fifth in the world by the FIVB. The Canadian delegation will take part in 36 sports, including beach volleyball, swimming and water skiing.

With 18 appearances in the Pan American Games, Canada has racked up 2,067 medals, 491 gold, 721 silver, 855 bronze. Only the United States, with 4,713, and Cuba, with 2124, have more medals than Canada from the Pan American Games. The bulk of those medals came in swimming and athletics. Canada has 108 golds from the Pan American Games from just those two sports.
