The Netherlands will seek revenge as they take on the United States in a pivotal Group E match at the 2023 Women’s World Cup in Wellington, New Zealand.

Four years ago in Lyon, the United States topped the Dutch 2-0 to win the 2019 final through goals by Megan Rapinoe and Rose Lavelle

With a rematch on hand, the two sides sit in largely different situations. The Netherlands sport many of the same stars that played in that final four years ago, with the spine of the team mostly intact. Meanwhile, the United States have ushered in a completely new backbone of youth, with most of the team from that trophy-winning squad on its way out.

Yet it’s the retooled U.S. that remains alone atop the FIFA rankings, while the Dutch have dropped two spots since then, from seventh to ninth. So, while they seek revenge, the U.S. will continue a push towards an historic three-peat, not haunted by ghosts of the past.

As overall top tournament favorites and ranked No. 1 in the world by FIFA, the United States are understandably going to be favorites in nearly all single matches throughout this tournament unless they are devastated by injuries or put forth a string of poor performances.

They are indeed favorites here, but not nearly to the level we’ve seen them labeled as of late, owing to the top European talent in this Netherlands squad.

Goals are thought to be at a premium here, as both teams earned shutout victories in their opening matches, and neither unleashed an onslaught of goals up front

As far as those two players are concerned, Ertz should move into midfield as Alana Cook enters to partner Naomi Girma at the back. It remains to be seen whether she’ll be fit for a start here, but it’s likely she could go at least an hour.

Each match’s radio commentary will be broadcast exclusively on BBC Radio 5 Live, 5 Sports Extra, and the BBC Sounds service. According to the BBC, there will be “tailored output” in Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

The 2023 AAU National Gymnastics Championship will commence shortly. Orlando, Florida will once again play host to the Gymnastics National Championships. Athletes from all over the United States are making their way to compete in this event with the hopes of bringing home an AAU National Championship. Beginning on the 30th of June and concluding on the 3rd of July, the event will last for a total of four days.

AAU Gymnastics will be working with the Kids Helping Kids Charity programme once again. The AAU is pleased to lend its support to the Peyton Project, a charitable organisation whose mission is to assist non-verbal persons with autism.

2023 AAU Gymnastics National Championship event summary 

More than 3,070 gymnasts and more than 580 coaches from 35 different AAU districts will compete in the most important competition of the 2023 AAU Gymnastics season, and they will all have the same goal in mind: to take home the gold medal. Athletes will be divided into three distinct divisions: the Ladies Division, the Girls Division, and the Special Stars Division.

The Girls Division includes several various competition levels, including Level 1-8, Open Optional, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond divisions. These competition levels can be found under the Girls Division. Athletes aged 18 and older will compete in the Ladies Division, which will be segmented into Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Open Optional divisions respectively.

This year, the Special Stars Division is making tremendous strides towards reaching even greater heights.  This recently prepared programme for AAU Gymnastics is intended for gymnasts who have certain requirements that must be met. At the 2023 AAU Gymnastics National Championships, there will be more than 24 athletes with special needs competing. The number of athletes competing in the Special Stars Division has reached an all-time high, setting a new record.

The AAU National Championship will award each competitor a medal for their overall performance. Additionally, competitors in each age category will receive medals for each individual event. They will give the National All-American Award to the competitor who achieves the highest overall score in each level throughout each session, regardless of their age.

Here are the contest rules for the Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest:

  1. Participation: The event has been managed by Major League Eating (MLE) since 1997. Currently, participants must be under contract with MLE to compete. Alongside past champions and special MLE invitees, aspiring eaters can qualify for the event through other preliminary contests.
  2. Duration: The contest takes place over a 10-minute period. Participants must consume as many Nathan’s Famous hot dogs in buns as they can within this time frame.
  3. Scorekeeping: Each contestant is assigned a dedicated scorekeeper who keeps track of the number of hot dogs consumed during the contest.
  4. Permitted Items: Water and other beverages are allowed and can be consumed to facilitate the pace of eating. Condiments are also permitted, although contestants generally choose not to use them.
  5. Partially Eaten Hot Dogs: Any hot dog that has been partially consumed counts towards the final tally. Similarly, hot dogs that are still being chewed at the end of regulation time can qualify, as long as they are successfully swallowed.
  6. Rules Enforcement: Penalty cards may be issued for messy eating and regurgitation.
  7. Tiebreaker: In the event of a tie at the end of regulation time, sudden death eat-offs will be implemented to determine the winner.

2023 World Rugby U20 Championship Format

Each team will play every other team in the event once (round robin style). The top four teams will then move on to the semi-finals, and the winners of those matches will face each other in the championship game.

New Zealand: The All Blacks

The All Blacks have a long and successful history in the U20 Championship, and they will be competing again in 2023 with the goal of adding another trophy to their collection. They bring with them an additional group of players who are tremendously talented to the South African coastline.

Ben Ake at loosehead prop, Siale Lauaki at tighthead prop, and Jack Taylor at hooker comprise the starting front row for the New Zealand Under-20 squad.
