Television Academy President Frank Scherma and actress Yvette Nicole Brown presided over an event that unveiled the nominations. Less than 48 hours had passed since the start of the actors’ union strike, which forced the entertainment sector to cease all production and marketing. This was the nomination ceremony.
With 27 nominations, HBO’s drama series “Succession” is the front-runner for this edition’s Emmys. With 24 nominations, “The Last of Us” is the second most nominated series, behind season 2 of “The White Lotus,” which also garnered 23 nominations from HBO/Max.
